This is a simple package which offers general health information. One of many Health and Fitness Packages offered here at McKinnon Sports Medicine.

This type of package is targeted at those who have a family history of heart disease, or have been suffering from chest pain themselves. This package will give you feedback and help educate you about your body, especially your heart structure and function. This information can be passed on to your local doctor/specialist, coach and/or your personal trainer.

Fee:
The entire package cost is $425.00 total, of which you will get $213.25 back from Medicare*. Total out of pocket expenses $211.75 per person.

* For rebates you must hold a current Australian Medicare Card. Males >35, females >45 years of age or any with a medical indication for the Healthy Heart Check will be able to claim from Medicare. You may be entitled to a further rebate if you have registered with the Medicare Safety Net and reached your threshold.

FAQs

Can I do the test on a bike?
Yes, the test can be performed on either a treadmill or on a bike. In the case of using a bike, we prefer our clients to bring in their own bike, so we can analyse their biomechanical function on their own bike throughout the evaluation.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for this type of check-up?
No referral is required

What is involved with the review?
The sports doctor will give you feedback of how you went and what’s needed to improve your health. The cost will depend on the doctor and length of the consultation.

Want do I need to bring for this check-up?
Comfortable exercise clothing, including suitable footwear is suggested. For females you need to bring along a crop top or a sports bra for good support while on the treadmill or bike. If you wish to be tested on the bike rather than the treadmill you need to bring along your bike. If you have any recent x-rays, scans or medical results please bring them along too. If you are unsure of what to bring please contact us.

If I have a group of people who want to have this Healthy Heart Check, can I get a group discount?
Depending on the numbers, if you inform us prior to booking we may be able to organise a group discount. Call or email us, to discuss this option.

Do you have change-room facilities?
Yes, if you need to have a shower and/or get changed these facilities are available here at McKinnon Sports Medicine.
